Handa's Surprise - Design Activity

A pack designed for early years classrooms containing a lesson description and three main activities based around the book Handa’s Surprise. The children will create their own basket in which to carry fruit. This is done through a range of activities involving key skills in art, design, science and exploration.

The lesson is primarily design based, focusing on physical development and creative and expressive design as well as literacy. However it covers a very wide range of opportunities to fully develop and explore all areas of learning including characteristics of learning.

The pack also includes extension activities and further ideas to enhance the classroom environment for child led activities.
