A complete, no-prep KS1 Religious Education enquiry: "How do humanists try to be kind and enjoy life?"
A gentle five-lesson KS1 enquiry into humanism, a non-religious worldview. Young pupils meet the idea that some people are not religious and still try very hard to be kind, to look after the world and each other, and to make the most of the one life they have. They meet the friendly Happy Human symbol, think about the wonder of the world around them, talk about being kind to everyone, enjoy the idea of joining in celebrations, and learn how humanists welcome a new baby. Humanist ideas are always attributed (‘Humanists believe…’, ‘Many humanists…’) in a ‘religion and worldviews’ approach, with plenty of talk, sorting and picture tasks. Religious and non-religious ways of living are always treated with equal respect. Designed to slot into your locally agreed syllabus.
