I spy…m, a, s

Children explore jars labeled with different sounds at the top.
Inside each jar are various small objects or images. Their task is to identify the initial sound of each object and match it to the correct sound jar. They can circle the correct matches, place a counter on top of the correct jar, or even write the corresponding word on a worksheet for reinforcement.
This hands-on activity supports sound discrimination, phonemic awareness, and early writing skills and links to the first 3 sounds taught in RWI phonics programme.
