IB Physics (2025) Math and Units (Intro)

Description
Welcome to the Physics IB classroom! This handout was created to be used in the first couple of lessons in the IB DP Physics Classroom. It covers the following:

• Standard Form (Scientific Notation)
• SI Base and Derived Units
• Homogenous Equations
• Non-SI Units
• Power Prefixes or Metric Multipliers
• Order of Magnitude
• Significant Figures and Decimal Places
• Rounding

These skills will of course be reinforced throughout the IB DP Physics course but I found them to be a good starting point for my classrooms.

The zip includes includes the file without the solutions for the examples in case you want to go over them with your students. It can also work as revision handout at the end of the syllabus.
