
This lesson is part of Unit 3 of the Edexcel IGCSE ICT course and focuses on securing websites, covering essential concepts such as SSL certificates, encryption, and safe online transactions. It is one of 26 lessons in the scheme of work, which also includes three progress check and quiz lessons.
The series has been designed with a strong emphasis on EAL learners and keyword acquisition/application, helping students to master the technical vocabulary required for success in the ICT IGCSE.
Each lesson in the series contains:
1–8 keywords on easy-to-use cards that integrate into the lesson activity and also serve as printable revision resources
A different active learning starter activity
A mini-plenary
A written or creative ICT task requiring correct keyword application
Stretch questioning for the main activities
Keyword literacy worksheets
This lesson can be delivered as part of the complete Unit 3 scheme of work or as a standalone session on website security.
