This lesson is designed for KS2 children and is also part of a wider unit called Mountain Environments.
First the presentation introduces children to mountains and looks at some of the activities people do in mountains. It then introduces some key features of a mountain range.
The activity then challenges children to identify the key features of a mountain environment. It is differentiated three ways.
LA - Children identify 8 key features of mountains.
MA - Children identify 10 key features of mountains.
UA - Children label the key features of mountains in their exercise book.
There is also an extension activity in which children match mountain vocabulary to their definitions.
