What do we actually believe in, and would we say so out loud? This unit gets students talking about honesty, loyalty, resilience, critical thinking, equality and the right to disagree. It uses situations they’ll recognise: a leaked photo in the class group chat, or a student council vote where speaking up costs something.

It starts with the core vocabulary on a sentence builder, then moves to gap-fills, “this or that” choices and a story to put back in order. After that come two Paper 2-style reading texts and three podcast-style listening tasks, each with a transcript and mark scheme. Speaking and writing follow: triple translation, oral ping-pong, spontaneous production, flashcards, and a full individual oral practice. That includes a photo stimulus, preparation questions and model answers. The writing tasks come with mark schemes and model answers you can download.
