dentités: Stéréotypes et préjugés
IB DP French Language B · SL & HL · 77 slides

Why does our brain sort people into boxes, and what happens to the people who end up in them? This unit looks at stereotypes, clichés, labels and the damage prejudice does to self-esteem. It also asks whether we can joke about stereotypes without making them worse.

It follows the same structure as the rest of the Identités units. There’s a sentence builder with scaffolded practice, including agree/disagree scales, chunk ordering and whole-sentence translation on mini-whiteboards. Then come two Paper 2-style reading texts and three podcast listening tasks with transcripts and mark schemes. This unit has more speaking work than the others:

a pair dialogue
a “complete your partner’s sentence” game
a school debate club task
a group podcast project with eight roles and clear success criteria, so everyone has to speak

It finishes with individual oral practice (photo stimulus, questions and model answers) and writing tasks with mark schemes and model answers.
