This is a very thorough presentation of the art of Impressionism Movement. Impressionism was an
art movement during the 1870s and 1880s. It was begun and sustained by Paris-based artists.
independent exhibitions organized by these artists outside the mainstream propelled their movement forward.

The conventional art community opposed the movement because they violated the rules of academic painting, including painting outdoors instead of in a studio. The public accepted the Impressionists before the art critics and art establishment.

Impressionism was a precursor of modern art and led into Post-Impressionism, Fauvism, and Cubism.
