This lesson is designed to last for 50-60 minutes and is resourced with videos, extension questioning, deep thinking and uses graphs/images to aid learning.
This lesson follows the Oxford KS3 curriculum and looks at challenging potential pre existing ideas of Africa through looking at various photos and students deciding if it is showing Africa or not before moving onto atlas skills and activities. Students also have the opportunity to create a mind map with an example provided. I used the ones my students created for a display.
This lesson includes a starter, lesson objective, plenary and various student led activities.
