Tasks include categorising the characteristics and developing and developed countries, looking at 6 basic development indicators (GDP, GDP per capita, Birth rate, life expectancy death rate and literacy rate), how these vary between countries and looks at beginning to explain why. There is a map analysis task looking at how these 6 indicators vary across the world and students either describe these patterns or simply answer atlas questions.
