Have students use their knowledge of ionic and covalent bonding to identify two unnamed powders.

Students will perform a series of experiments to determine the properties of two unnamed powders in order to determine which is ionic and which is covalent. Properties students investigate include: physical state, melting point, electrical conductivity, solubility and electrical conductivity with distilled water.
