Is poverty & wealth equally distributed?
The best variation of the cake game! Very topical today given the European migrant issue. All the numbers have been calculated accurately for any class size from 24 to 32. Furthermore it is easy to set up. No images as one of the aims is to tackle perceived ideas as an introduction to development and the Millennium goals. Not only is the cake already divided but each member (pupil) of each country must bargain for their share of the cake and they must negotiate with other countries for a greater portion of the cake. Furthermore individuals within countries must decide whether to migrate or not whilst host countries have to decide on whether to allow migrants in. Lots of self & peer review and green pen action. Based on the facingfutures.org resource it took a VERY long time to get the percentages correct for each pupil so please review this lesson when you buy it.
