A series of lessons on iteration (2-3). The lesson begins with rearranging formula in many ways which is part b) of the iteration question in the ew GCSE. It moves forward to using iteration to find particular values and then develops pupils learning to finding estimates to a solution by doing a series of iterative. There is a killer question which is a typical GCSE exam question.
All tasks are differentiated to at least 3 levels to allow pupils to practice the skill and also stretch and challenge the more able. All solutions are included in the lesson so that pupils can self mark their work. This lesson has been used with top set year 11 and all pupils were engaged and made good progress through the tasks.
