Jessie Pope War Girls

War poetry lesson that explores Jessie Pope’s War Girls and asks students to evaluate whether her perspective on the roles of women during World War I is contemporary or radical. Students explore what kind of roles women took on during the fighting and how this impacted on society at the end of 1918. A very useful lesson for KS3 students looking at poems and KS4 students preparing for unseen poetry exams or English Literature exam questions.
