Teacher resources for a 60 minute lesson on the the doctrine of judicial precedent focusing on the hierarchy of the courts and law reporting. Contains a powerpoint and worksheet. Suitable for courses at level 3 including A level law, Access to HE and business law modules . There is a student copy and teacher copy of the worksheet with answers. The worksheet is designed to accompany the Youtube clips on the topics created by e-lawresources and students will need to watch the videos to complete it. The 5 question starter on the power point relates to the prior lesson in this series on the main principles of the doctrine of precedent. This lesson should take approx 60 mins. There are suggested timings in the powerpoint at the end of the slide. In addition to the starter, there are 3 tasks and a plenary. Printing requirements 0.5 A4 sheet per student. There are separate classes covering the main principles of the doctrine of precedent, ways of avoiding precedent and advantages and disadvantages of judicial precedent.
