This is a set of 16 questions (with answers provided) presented in the format of the KS2 Arithmetic test. All 16 questions focus on one area: multiplying and dividing fractions. This was designed as homework, but could be equally suitable for targeted intervention or whole class work. See my other resources for the booklet of worked examples. Please note: This is also available as part of a bundle containing 14 sets of questions (different arithmetic focus for each) and a booklet of worked examples, to support pupils/parents if it is given as homework.

KS2 SATs Maths Arithmetic Practice Questions and Worked Examples Booklet

This bundle contains 14 sets of SAT type arithmetic questions (details below) and two booklets of worked examples for pupils (and parents) to refer to. As well as being useful at school, these questions could be given as homework, with the example booklet as support. The questions are grouped into areas, to allow an opportunity for focusing on a target area for a pupil, group of pupils or whole class. The questions are all presented in a similar format to that which children will get in the arithmetic SAT and are appropriately pitched. Answers are provided at the end of each set of questions. Question set focus: • Arithmetic-addition and subtraction including decimals • Arithmetic-place value 10 and 100 • Arithmetic- single digit multiplication • Arithmetic-single digit division • Arithmetic-squared and cubed numbers • Arithmetic-place value known number facts • Arithmetic- multiplying and dividing fractions • Arithmetic-adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers • Arithmetic-decimal percentage fraction equivalence • Arithmetic-percentage of a number • Arithmetic-order of operations • Arithmetic-double digit multiplication • Arithmetic-place value division • Arithmetic-double digit division The example booklet has worked examples of all 14 sets of questions. I have selected methods which we have found to be the most reliable for pupils who don't necessarily find calculation straightforward. I advise you to check that you are happy with the methods before giving them to your pupils. The booklet is in two formats, so select according to your school's calculation policy. There are 17 pages of worked examples and a front cover, so you can print it on 9 pages back to back. Alternatively you can print off selected pages. • Example Booklet with decimal point on the line • Example Booklet with decimal point in own square This took me a long time to create-I hope it's useful to you!
