A KS2 assembly to explore the history of Video Games and how modern games have persuasive technology built into their design.
It comes with a set of PowerPoint slides and an Outline Plan in Word to talk through each slide.
I wrote this assembly based on my own interest in gaming but as I explored the topic I realised how much of modern video game design is shaped to manipulate the user and is aims to monetise users’ gaming habits. The assembly explores persuasive technology and encourages pupils to reflect on their gaming habits and attitudes.
I hope it can help the children in your school game in responsible ways and support parents at home with managing the challenging topic of limiting screen time.
