A KS2 assembly to discuss how we can use Whatsapp and other messaging apps in ways that are kind and inclusive.

It comes with a set of PowerPoint slides and an Outline Plan in Word to talk through each slide.

I wrote this assembly for Year 5 and 6 as it was coming to my attention that more and more Year 6 children were using Whatsapp to communicate outside of school and the exclusive nature of Whatsapp messaging groups were leading to friendship issues in school. This assembly highlights to children how easy it is to come across in the wrong way when using messaging services and encourages them to reflect on their own behaviour online and most importantly being kind in what we do.

I hope it can help the children in your school to become more empathetic using messaging services and enhance their awareness of how things can easily come across in a way you don’t intend online.

Look out for more of Mr C’s Cerebral Assemblies coming soon.
