Latest 2026 Version
This is a complete Teaching and Knowledge booklet on the KS3 topic of Atomic Structure and the Periodic Table. It is intended for teaching Year 7 students.

It is a resource I have created during the development of a brand new curriculum based on the National Curriculum for KS3 Science.

Along with the Teaching/Knowledge booklet, there are also 3 assessment pieces included:

  • Concept Question (Substantive Knowledge)
  • Working Scientifically Question (Disciplinary Knowledge)
  • Multiple-Choice Assessment (Summative)

You therefore have an entire standalone topic to pick up and teach, as well as assessments to set your students.

The booklet is intended to replace PowerPoint! No more boring slides that keep you on rails. Teach from the booklet! - I do this by uploading it on to OneNote, or displaying under a visualiser. It is intended to be printed for each student to have in front of them whilst being taught. With OneNote, you will then have infinite canvas to explore areas in more detail, add diagrams, model questions etc.

The booklet contains:

  • Full lessons/chapters
  • Detailed theory
  • Accessible diagrams
  • Do Now activities (8 question) for each lesson
  • MWB/Knowledge Check Questions
  • Learning Activities
  • Independent Practice Questions
  • Exam Style Questions
  • Summary Questions
  • Notes Pages for Modelling/Practice

This resource would be excellent if you are thinking of transitioning to a bookletised curriculum, or if you need a more updated booklet for your current curriculum.
