Seven taught KS3 lessons take pupils from a mystery metal to a blast furnace, a reinforced bridge and a glazed tile. Use these as a sequence or choose an individual investigation.
Lessons included
- Properties of metals and non-metals
- Comparing the reactivity of metals
- Predicting displacement reactions
- Carbon and the extraction of metals
- Composite materials and reinforcement
- Polymers and their properties
- Ceramics and their properties
Each folder contains the actual editable PowerPoint, its 50-minute plan, suggested practical or tabletop model, and the same worksheets and checked answers as the individual download. The topic roadmap helps you plan the sequence and equipment. Compare metals in a circuit and in salt solutions, model oxygen transfer, and test composite strips, polymer films and ceramic surfaces.
Includes four independently written practice activities with keys, alongside the original classroom handouts. These seven taught lessons cover the materials strand; the school’s separate assessment and revision sessions are not counted as lessons.
Seven £1 lessons bought separately cost £7. The bundle costs £4.
