A full lesson with resources on the civil rights movement and Rosa Parks. The lesson is framed around the p4c question, ‘Is it ever right to break the rules?’ Students will consider the impact of discrimination on society and the importance of standing up to social issues through the completion of a variety of different tasks/points of thought. The main activity involves a scaffolded consideration of Rosa Parks life through a story board. Students will consolidate learning through an evaluation question.
I spent two hours on this topic with Y8 KS3 students.
