Building on Years 7 and 8
Year 9 is the final stage of a coherent three-year KS3 Computing journey. Students revisit and extend previous learning while tackling more demanding programming tasks, algorithmic efficiency, larger datasets, database systems, AI ethics and cyber security.
The curriculum develops greater independence, problem-solving, evaluation and the ability to apply Computing knowledge to authentic situations. It builds on the foundations established in Years 7 and 8 while preparing students for progression towards GCSE Computer Science and related digital and vocational qualifications.
