This is part of a series of Geography lessons designed for **KS3 **around the place of Africa. This was initially designed for Year 9 students in preparation for a GCSE in Geography but can easily be used with other year groups. This SOW is complete with fully resourced lessons, assessments, further reading and ideas for building in cultural capital to the curriculum.

This lesson focuses on climate and ecosytem functions in the rainforest.
The objectives of the lesson are:
- Suggest how the GAC influences the landscapes in Africa.
- Describe the climate in the rainforest.
- Explain how climate influences the soil and plants of the rainforest.
