Your A2 and B1 learners will talk about culture in three different forms including:

  • The culture pass: encouraging young people to participate in the city’s cultural activities.
  • Culture shock: with a tribe that has a unique custom in the world and you will understand why.
  • The culture of the future: The Château de Versailles and its partnership with Google Arts & Culture, which offers some pretty interesting things.

Description:

Do you want to talk about culture easily and effectively in your EFL class? Take a look at what this resource can do for you. It consists of 3 main sequences:

  • The culture pass: making cultural activities accessible to young people
  • National culture: prepare for culture shock
  • The culture of the future & general culture: long live Google Arts & Culture

The culture pass.

This sequence consists first of all of an oral comprehension that explains what the culture pass is. Then, the learners will make several oral productions related to culture, young people and free cultural activities.

The most original activity of all is called “my new culture pass”. Learners will have to choose a theme focusing on a type of person (senior citizen, geek, couple, etc.) and create a new special culture pass for them that meets their needs.
Finally, students will have to do a reading comprehension exercise to help five friends. The aim will be to understand what each one tastes and to find the activity that suits everyone.

National culture.

There are many cultural differences between countries, and fortunately! This sequence will be an opportunity to address this theme and to experience culture shocks. The sequence starts with an original document that presents a woman who lives her love in a way that is very shocking for westerners like us. The rest of the sequence is mainly made up of oral productions related to the culture of the countries.

The culture of the future and general culture.

In the future, we won’t need to go to a museum, we will be able to visit everything from home, in virtual mode. This is the subject of this document. You also have to help a curious character called Maxqueen. He will explain to you why he doesn’t grow. And it will be up to your learners to give him solutions.

The last topic is about general culture, or rather, the way older people perceive young people. The triggering document is a press article. Finally, there is an oral production to be done in pairs or more so that each learner can express their cultural preferences.

That is all for this great resource. Congratulations in advance on your new acquisition.
