A six week unit of work based on chapters 1-6 of the book ‘Letters from the Lighthouse’ with comprehension tasks, writing tasks, history objectives and activities and a plenty of challenges included throughout.
History inspired activities include holding a mock evacuation with billeting cards provided.
Designing and making a lighthouse using an electrical circuit and writing about their designs.
Role playing a scene during the Blitz and writing narrative descriptions about the experience.

PowerPoint** for chapters 1-6 with 76 slides.

X30 sets of success criteria for each writing task included.
x30 sets of extract analysis for each genre ready to print.
Planning skeletons for each writing genre included.
Writing checklists for each writing genre included.

Newly added writing checklist bookmarks for report writing, narrative writing and letter writing-print, laminate and children can use these all year-30 provided.

History focus including substantive knowledge and vocabulary for WW2 topic.
