Activity sheets that combine the maths concepts of position and direction within a New Zealand ANZAC unit study (with a focus on World War 1 and World War 2 battles).

Students work on locating New Zealand battle locations in World War 1 and World War 2 using longitude and latitude.

Students will require access to an atlas or (more preferably) an online map app, such as Google Maps.

Students are provided with the recording sheets and information cards that contain information on three WW1 battles and four WW2 battles New Zealand was involved in, the dates of the battles and the countries. Please note - they are not in order on the cards!

Using the information cards and the coordinates on the recording sheets students then work out which battle took place in which country and when.

Includes; recording sheets, information cards, teacher instructions and answer sheets.
