Excel multiple choice quiz of 12 questions aimed at revealing a pupil’s basic maths misconceptions ie. 2 + 3 x 4 = 20! To encourage better results and to discourage random guessing, none of these & don’t know are listed as possible answers. A repeat of their 12 answers, name and group is given at the bottom of the sheet. This is for easy collating of results by layering sheets and copying. The resource can be used as an engaging starter or a simple diagnostic tool. It can be presented as a worksheet or done on computers then saved or single-page printed.
