5th to 10th grade learners. This is the stem of one or two lessons for younger students exploring 3D cubes and cuboids. There are opportunities for investigations and questions from these activities, and even a potential science link to surface area of biological structures.

More able students could certainly build the cuboid skyscrapers and graph relationship between cubes used and total faces, or even use it for number patterns. The cubes also support cubed numbers or cubic volume work really well to visualise and work out the cubes of numbers 1 to 4.
