These 6 differentiated worksheets are designed to help Year 2 and Year 3 pupils learn more about and practise adding 2 2-digit numbers together. The exercises are suitable for all abilities and will help children learn or practise the tens and ones/units method.

The method is illustrated in the first example, by breaking down the numbers into tens and ones/units in order to work out the answers.

The first 2 worksheets focus on using the method to add, where the numbers do not cross 10. The next 2 worksheets use numbers that cross 10 and the last 2 worksheets focus on adding numbers that cross 10 and also 100.
