This lesson looks at how to draw and interpret line graphs in a science context. The lesson is designed to be delivered from the PowerPoint only with no additional printing; but you may want to print the results table that pupils are asked to plot; and a full page version is supplied for this purpose.

The only other resource required for the lesson is some graph or square paper.

The lesson begins by taking students through different line graphs and asking them to describe the relationship. It then moves on to asking them to plot and interpret a graph of their own.

This lesson was originally delivered as part of a “maths for science” curriculum, but could be easily used as a stand alone lesson for a class that need to practice their graphing skills.
