Children use their knowledge of tables facts and commutativity to multiply single-digit numbers together and find division which give particular remainders. They are introduced to early ideas of ratio and proportion, making towers with different ratios and proportions of different coloured cubes, and drawing rectangles with the same ratio between their sides.
