Mental and oral starters for Year 3 Autumn Teaching Sequence 14.Order numbers to 1000, locate them on a landmarked line (100s labelled)
Understand the value of the digits in a three-digit number. Find 1, 10, 100 more/less than 3-digit numbers. Recognise all coins and use £.p notation, work out what coins and notes can be used to pay an amount up to £10. Write amounts of money in pounds and pence. Use partitioning and recombining or counting on in tens and ones to add 2-digit numbers. Use addition facts for all numbers up to 10 to find pairs of multiples of 10. Identify pairs of numbers with a difference of 5. Begin to know by heart multiplication facts for the 3 times table. Count on in 3s and 4s. Understand that division can leave a remainder.
