This task allows students to practice applying the rules of BIDMAS/ BODMAS / PEMDAS - perfect for developing their understanding of the Order of Operations and number.
Students will need to organize the calculation cards into 2 groups: those which are correct without brackets, and those which need brackets to be correct. Students then need to add the missing brackets to those which need it in and explain their reasoning.
This activity also comes with an additional challenge to provoke higher order reasoning and develop mathematical thinking.
