Students will use their knowledge of molar mass and Avogadro's constant to calculate how many molecules of chalk they used to draw a self-portrait.

Students will start by weighing their piece of chalk, they will then get outside the classroom and use chalk on a surface to draw a self-portrait. Upon returning, students will weigh their piece of chalk again and will then calculate how many molecules of chalk they left on the surface outside.

This is a great activity to break up a dry stoichiometry unit.
