This is a combination of multiplying 2,3 & 4-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers and multiplying 2,3 & 4-digit numbers by 2-digit. Although multiplying by 2 & 3 digit numbers by 1-digit numbers starts in Year 4, very often this needs revision in Year 5 /6 and is excellent preparation for multiplying by 2-digit numbers where fluency in the process of multiplication & ‘carrying over’ is vital.
