This resource is an movement activity to practice the method of multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 or 1000. It is aimed at KS2 but can be used for any age. The questions can be printed out (on card or laminated for durability). They are then spread out around the room or pegged up around an outside area. The pupils have the blank questions sheet and fill in the grid for each question. The information can then be used to answer the questions.

This resource emphasizes the method of looking to see if they need to use their Place Value Grid and checking which way and how many jumps to move the number BEFORE doing the actual question.

It is good as a movement activity especially if it is possible to do it outside - ideal if you have a TA to peg up the cards while you explain the activity.
