Multiplying KS2/KS3 (Low/Middle Ability)

Hi,

This lesson looks at multiplying 2 digits by 1/2 digit numbers. I have broken the lesson down into 3 chunks; recap basic multiplication, multiplying using the teachers method and Square/root numbers. This lesson should take 2 hours to teach, however it can be used as revision before an exam or unit test.

There is a range of AFL (MWB activity, Mini plenary and self/peer assessment). I have incorporates answers on most slides to make marking easier for yourself and the students. The problem solving and reasoning slide can be completed by students on their own or in pairs depending on the ability of your group.

The learning objectives covered are;
- I can multiple numbers and recognise multiples
- I can recognise square numbers
- I can find roots of square numbers on a calculator
