Differentiated, seven page assignment/assessment workbook to allow students with cognitive and learning difficulties to be integrated fully into the classroom environment; to enable access to the Year 9 curriculum and to provide all students with the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of the topic at a level appropriate to ability.

The workbook is dyslexia friendly with many colourful images; variety of font colour and well spaced/minimum text on each page.

The workbook is differentiated in a way that guides/supports the student in the recording of a diary as if they are a member of a tribe and their experience in the preparations for a 'buffalo hunt'.

The diary covers:
Images for students to use to decorate front cover of diary.
May 15th 1840 - The preparations - one week prior to the hunt (cloze procedure)
May 18th 1840 - To write a paragraph about what happened three days prior to hunt (questions provided as a framework)
May 21st 1840 - The night prior to the hunt - feeling nervous/party/colourful costumes (cloze procedure)
May 22nd 1840 - Preparations on the day of the hunt - weapons/horses/war paint/the womans role in the carving of the buffalo (matching activity)
