This lesson is part of the new AQA Physics energy unit. It focuses on allowing students to develop their knowledge on energy resources and sustainability.

Students are asked to select appropriate renewable energy sources for an island taking into consideration social, economic and environmental factors. The task itself takes a fully independent approach and develops many key skills such as: Decision making, communication, team work, mathematical and analytical skills.

Students must justify their decisions and work towards given deadlines. The work is differentiated by outcome and there is opportunity for students to peer-assess. I would advise that the lesson takes 1.5 hours to complete.

Worksheets and powerpoint included. (Sorry for the large files but the images are HD!)
