**Make New Deal Revision Fun and Interactive with These Engaging Dingbats!
Perfect for Grades 8–12, US History, American Studies & APUSH Review
Dingbats are dynamic, interactive flashcards that turn revision into a fun, collaborative learning experience. Instead of reviewing facts alone, students work with partners or in small groups to recall key ideas, strengthen memory, and build confidence with New Deal content. They are ideal for retrieval practice, spaced repetition, and active learning — strategies proven to boost long-term retention.
This resource works brilliantly as a warm-up at the start of class, a quick formative check in the middle of a lesson, or a fast-paced review activity at the end. Teachers also find them helpful for test prep packets, intervention sessions, small-group tutoring and self-study routines. Students can even keep printed sets in their binders to review independently.
Your download includes a Word document containing Dingbats covering essential content from the New Deal era (1933–1945), as well as an 18-slide PowerPoint that models how to use them effectively. In Game 1, one student reads the keywords while another guesses the topic — an excellent retrieval practice exercise. Game 2 increases the challenge by requiring students to describe the topic without using any of the listed terms. Alternative formats such as Pictionary and Charades are included to keep the activities varied and engaging. The pack also provides guidance for short “one-minute talks” and tips for helping students create their own Dingbats. Both documents are also supplied as PDFs for easy printing.
