This is a lesson I made for my interview at a Primary school. The lesson was aimed at year 5 but would work for higher ability year 4 and upwards. This resource could also be adapted for a number of different year groups across KS2.

The lesson begins by using maths reasoning skills to answer a series of sometimes, always, never questions as a starter (answers on whiteboards). It then transitions into teaching how to complete number pyramids using addition and subtraction and has a chili challenge to differentiate for all abilities (this went particularly well). For those who complete the work quickly or want an extra challenge, there is a super spicy pyramid for higher ability students that includes decimals.

Resource sheets and answer sheets are included, students to self mark.
