Detailed PP introducing the cosmological argument for Yr13, although easily adaptable for GCSE if required. Starts with a re-cap activity on traditional understandings of God (i.e. the God of classical theism). PP follows with several slides of information about the foundations of the cosmological argument as found in Aristotle, the significance of the four cases, inductive/deductive and analytic/synthetic in relation to the argument. Also including in this pack is a note taking sheet for students to complete as the PP is presented, and a worksheet containing discussion cards for students to begin evaluating Aristotle’s version of the cosmological argument. N.B. this is an introductory lesson so Aquinas is not covered. There is also a plenary game on the last slide (instructions in the notes section of the PP)
