Ofsted Toolkits 2025 - Descriptor Self Evaluation Workbook

This Excel workbook is set up for schools that want to self-evaluate against the new Ofsted toolkit descriptors. It includes the safeguarding, inclusion, curriculum and teaching, achievement, attendance and behaviour, personal development and wellbeing, early years and leadership and governance toolkits. It only includes the statements for expected, strong and exceptional evaluations. On each page is the option to RAG rate your school against the description and note any commentary you feel would be helpful.

The workbook is set up to allow you to print the whole thing out to pop into a file for reference.

There is no expectation from Ofsted that you complete this kind of evaluation - but this is offered as a time saving option for school leaders who want to use the descriptors in this way. It is not recommended that this workbook is shared with inspectors - but it might be useful for in house collating of thinking and ideas. It is shared in this format so that schools can customise and adapt it to meet their needs.
