This is an Understanding the World lesson linked to Old MacDonald Had a Farm. We talk about the animals you can see on the farm and children identify similarities and differences.
I also use this lesson as a nice opportunity to develop language and writing skills so children have a go at writing the names of the animals and also writing some simple sentences about them.
