This lesson covers:
•Animated slides covering the different addition reactions along with a table what students complete while working through these slides. This covers the reactant, products and conditions for hydrogenation, hydration, halogenation and reactions with hydrogen halides. This section also exaplains Markovnivok’s rule for drawing the major product for asymmetric alkenes
•Lots of practice for students to write addition reactions equations and name and draw the displayed formula of the organic product to build on skills from previous lessons
•Content covered on elimination, oxidations and condensation reactions covering reactants, products and conditions needed for these reactions.
•Student match the reaction to it’s name and condition based on the types of reaction covered this lesson followed by multi-step organic reaction pathways where students have to identify the end product and intermediate compounds based on the reaction type.
