This resource goes into more depth about parametric statistical tests. If you are looking to teach Inferential Statistics for A level, please see my other resource: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/inferential-statistics-for-a-level-psychology-12029946
This resource explains about parametric test assumptions including normal distributions, variances and levels of measurement. This is probably more useful for 1st year degree level where they will need more information about choosing parametric tests. (For A level, students are not required to calculate variances etc)
01 PowerPoint for teachers (or students) of A level psychology on parametric tests (when to use each one). Includes activities throughout and any questions on the slides will have the answers in the notes section.
02 Is a handy choosing tree to quickly identify which statistical test to use (for parametric and non-parametric tests) and can be displayed in the classroom
02a is the choosing tree with blanks so you can easily and quickly test your students
03 Is a test on which statistical test to use. The test gives a hypothesis and experimental design and then requires students to identify the level of measurement, whether it’s a parametric or non-parametric test, which test to use and the reasons why. It could be used as a test at the beginning of the next lesson. Probably about 15 minutes due to the reading required.
03a The answers to the test (I get students to swap their tests and mark each others in the classroom, saves time on marking)
04 A poster on the assumptions of parametric tests for the classroom

I can't open the first slide for ,my perfusal.
Hi, I'm really sorry about that. I'm not sure how to fix that. I can email you the PowerPoint directly and see if that helps? Would you be able to send me your email address? If you don't want to put your email address here you could send it to me on a direct message on t witter @blonde_pretzel.
Fantastic lesson powerpoint and very detailed. The included test is very useful and the choosing tree has a clear layout and is very useful. Love the poster, too, and it will be going up on the wall very soon!! Thank-you so much! Again, fantastic resources!!
