Patterns & Sequences is a completely interactive lesson fro learners in year 2. In this lesson, learners will be able to order and arrange combinations of mathematical objects in patterns and sequences.

What's covered (aligned to Year 2 NC objectives):
Section A – Number Sequences (14 marks) — counting in 2s, 5s, and 10s with missing number boxes in the sequence strip format.
Section B – Shape Patterns (4 marks) — four repeating shape pattern rows (using ★ ● ■ ▲ ♥ ◆) where pupils identify and extend the pattern.
Section C – Odd and Even (4 marks) — circling even numbers from a mixed set, plus writing three odd numbers in a range.
Section D – Rules & Reasoning (4 marks) — four written/reasoning questions: naming a rule, predicting in a colour pattern, counting backwards in 10s, and a yes/no reasoning question about multiples of 5.
The answer sheet includes full mark explanations (including the reasoning behind Q8 and Q10) and a mark scheme summary table — teacher-use only note included.
