This is a whole lesson looking at Increasing or Decreasing by a Percentage. This lesson specifically looks at how to do so using a calculator. This is a classic (more challenging) exam question involving real-life contexts like sales tax, tax, VAT, sales, depreciation of cars etc. This builds on the understanding from the previous lesson and looks at ways to work out these problems using a calculator. The lesson also looks at the concept of the multiplier, which comes up again for compound interest. 28 slide presentation + lots of extra resources.

The lesson includes:

+ a starter
+ learning objectives (differentiated)
+ keywords (vital for lessons on percentages)
+ Excellent teaching slides
+ Lots of examples
+ MWB activities (great for AFL)
+ embedded questions (with answers)
+ Handout - to support less able or for student notes
+ Exam style worksheet (with answers)
