Pets Themed Writing and Drawing Frames

A pets-themed writing and drawing resource for EYFS and KS1, ideal for encouraging children to develop their early writing, drawing and speaking skills.
The resource includes 6 worksheets in total, with three different designs: general pets, dogs and cats. Each design includes a writing frame and a drawing frame, with two frames on each page that can be enlarged if required.
Every design is provided in both colour and black and white, making the sheets suitable for a range of classroom activities.
Children could use the drawing frames to draw their own pet, a pet they would like to have, their favourite pet, or things a pet might need or eat.
The writing frames can be used for children to write about their own pet, describe a favourite animal, explain how to care for a pet, write simple sentences or create a short pet-themed story. The resource could also be used alongside a Pets topic, animal theme, role-play area or discussion about caring for animals.
A worked example is included to show how a child’s completed writing and drawing frame might look and to provide inspiration for using the resource.
